Specify distribution gaps with number

Had an idea… if we could specify the gaps between distribution, so it can be more consistent:

This probably has too much control, but maybe just 1 input field…

This with a check box to turn off and on. (or similar language Kinopio uses.)

Number is abstract … maybe by Rem, percentage %, or px

could you tell me more about the use cases for why you’d want more or less of a gap? mainly aesthetic or functional?

would you want that gap distance to apply to just align/distribute, or to shift drag grid snapping too?

Sure, for I guess moodboardin’ it be for aesthetics.

Functional the use case would be for speed and consistency. Creating form like spaces and quickly accessing how much gaps I need but numeric value that would be consistent, so I can replicate again in another area; some what also aesthetic as well.

Currently it’s a cut and measure game till it looks right or close enough.

Specifying gaps would also work as reference for future space/area creation as there is a numeric value to reference. (Though you could use templates, I guess its an alternative if you rather not inherit the template styling.)

so in this case you want to create a form like space but you want the elements to be some other distance than 12 px between them, mainly for aesthetic reasons right?

Yeah this is more aesthetics, but also speed in tiding up cards in some sort of fixed option.
