Sometimes fast typing causes cards not to save? They disappear

I have noticed this in solo spaces, but I recently had an experience in a shared space where cards would disappear despite appearing for a while.

(Video sent to pirijan separately)

Private space link that I think pirijan may be able to harvest for logged data–

It winds up creating a pretty distinctive structure, you can see where cards were dropped:

this may have been fixed by the fix for Fast typing causes cards not to save - non-collab version - #8 by pirijan

let me know if you see this in the future and i’ll reopen

Not sure if this is the same problem or different - I suspect it is related. I don’t have a console log for this, but clear evidence of unsaved local changes:

This card was a complete statement, I think several cards were lost as well as other changes?

Did you notice the app performance being slow at the time? E.g lag when typing or dragging cards

i don’t have SPECIFIC memories of this one being laggy/slow but i would say yes, definitely, it happens roughly around the time things are laggy/slow and im just cranking through it despite the lag being mildly annoying

in the case of this specific example i was definitely fighting through lag the majority of the time that i was working in the space. so it seems very likely that it was during a period of low performance (which i know ur working on). it would definitely be nice to – even if it happened during my typing, e.g. losing my words or randomly backspacing, telling me “hey sorry we lost it, performance is bad”… that would be better than silently losing it after the fact once i felt like it was “safe”

not suggesting that you need to do that solution, i just intend to convey my use case for kinopio is very much for writing things down that are slopping out of the brain so the threat of losing things and maybe not even realizing it until much later is quite scary.

My theory right now is this may of been performance related race conditions. With the upcoming rewrite I’m hoping that fixing the performance issues fixes this issue too
