This is the sole reason preventing me from upgrading and fully utilizing the tool.

I think this would be the most simplest and logical way to look at it.

following up on
if you upload files or images then those will be saved to the server because I there’s nowhere else to save big data. Is that okay? or should uploads be disabled if offline?
if you drag an image into a local space then it’ll still be uploaded to the server, but there’ll be a notification to let you know that it’s going to the server the first time you do this. that okay?

That would be a good beginning. Is there no way to have the attachments saved somehow locally, with the ability to export?
